Black smoke at low RPM
Hi Chaps,

I have a TD5 with re-map, boost box, intercooler, egr, exhaust and pipes. After about 3 or 4 miuntes of driving blake smoke comes out of the exhaust at low RPM and clears when the RPM builds. If I switch the engine off and then back on again it clears up for 5 or so minutes then the same thing happens.

Performance does not seem effected at all.

I would be interested to hear your thoughts.

Thanks Bish

Has the car always been like this since the tuning ?
Who did the tuning ?
Which filling station do you fill up at ?
Have you had any diagnostics done ?

Regards Pete

Hi
I think the first port of call is a diagnostic chq to make sure all seems in order with the electronics side of things.

This may point you in the direction of a fault if there is one,i take it was doing this same thing before it was modifyed and tuned ?

Regards Pete

Nope, not even a puff of smoke beforebeing tuned.

I will go and slap her on the diagnostic and see what comes up.

Did you get the tuning done via mail or did you take the car and have the work done ??
