I would think the pipe to be fine. It's the fittings, (elbows, joiners, and so on) that I would be concerned about. But it does hold very high water pressure.

I have always been told to avoid pipe like that as it can fracture and explode sending shards of plastic everywhere. You can use metal piping as it can handle the pressures and will not degrade, there is however a company in the states that I looked into as they do a full kit for the workshop and once I checked the prices they offered a very good price even after shipping, I believe they use plastic piping but it was designed to handle the pressure and also the oil that passes through the lines as some always comes out the compressor. 90 wolf - Jasmin http://www.defender2.net/forum/topic39408.html

We use the smc quick release for airlines at work no worries. The pipes rated high enough and the only weakness is the fittings if you connect and disconnect them a lot. Even then they tend to just leak.
They are designed for and used widely for air distribution in industrial machinery http://www.smcusa.com/top-navigation/cad-models/21909 |

One option is JG Speedfit:
http://www.johnguest.com/products/air-and-pneumatics/air/ Tricoflex hose (the nice yellow stuff) is rated for use with air too, that's what we use for all our water hoses but we haven't tried it for pneumatics yet. |
