Mine did the same on the inside...then a big chunk on the outside, will a couple of hundred miles. I discussed with my dealer, had the outside resolved and all fine since, decided not to bother with the inside...collective view was it will just chip and flake off over time.

The paint fell off of the inside of mine the first time I washed it!
Luckily the outer paint hasn't. |

AFAIK, the inner arches are not factory sprayed. They may just be lightly oversprayed and that's about it hence the outer arches are painted perfectly.

Nothing new, non flaking arches are the exception. Steve.

I spotted this in the first few weeks but only on the inside so decided to leave it and have not reported it under warranty. Five months on and it has not spread to the outside. I've got 30 months warranty left so plenty of time to take action if it becomes a problem.

Our '13 90 has this issue too. Paint on the underside is basically just not much better than overspray I reckon, so whilst I wasn't happy when it started to flake off, I wasn't worried,....but I would be if it happened to the topside.

Call me stupid but why on earth would you wnt the insides of the wheel archbrows painted?
No one ever sees it and it just gets pelted by mud, stone, road salt, water etc. It's a losing battle! 2016 D4 HSE 1998 110 TUM HS FFR Hard Top XD WOLF 1982 Series 3 SWB Petrol |

They all do that. The inside of the arches don't have any primer or prep done to them to make the paint fix
It's quite shocking but just the way they are!! My confidence has been writing cheques that my abilities can't cash for years. |

Yes, I've already spoken about this, but I still reckon that it wouldn't have been hard to paint the underside as well. I guess it's all about cost, & I know that it's no big deal, and that this is not even an issue to many. In my case, whilst I can accept peeling overspray, and I know that it's normal, I wish that it wasn't. Pickles. |
