Vehicle Glazing Specialists (formerly Landyglass) supplies EU approved LED rear glass LED lights. Maybe give him a call and see if he can provide you one or give details where you can get one from?

This one from Hella also nice:
http://www.danielsternlighting.com/products/products.html http://www.thesamba.com/vw/forum/viewtopic...p;start=20 Saw the other day on a Land Cruiser a rear facing light bar mounted on the roof with LED main rear red lights, brake lights and indicators. With remaining space in middle for a LED work light bar. Did not get close enough to snap or see manufacturer name. All with clear lenses - but lighting up in the appropriate color - red/orange. Looked rather nice. |

I think SFS is after something to put in the existing unit, rather than replacing it with another non-factory unit? 1988 90 Td5 NAS soft top

I do not know if this is any help to you but I fitted one of these to my high level brake light very bright much better than the OEM bulb.

As seen on a Malaysia 110 double cab limited edition. This LED 3rd brake light would be an interesting one to install on a SW too, for instance on the upper door frame itself, or on the panel above, and same time replace the rear window by a version without the standard 3rd brake light with its incandescent bulb/holder.
Anybody have an idea which brand this LED brake light is? Eric Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge You never actually own a Defender. I like that but it's a bit extreme having to take the canopy off to make functional.

I fitted the LED bulb as above, quick fix and effective. Had to swop the two wires over, as LR had the polarity different. All simple stuff.
I also fitted a flash unit, which gives 5 flashes before coming on hard. There is an override in case of MOT problems. With the LED it is very distinctive and (hopefully) safer. Merlin |
