Head Unit Upgrade advice please

My 2008MY Puma has a JVC head unit which is pants.

it won't play any USB sticks, won;t play the CD, or MP3 cds and the radio is terrible. All in all, it's on the way out.

I want to replace with a mechless Head unit as most of ,my music is on iphone or USB now, no point with CD's that skip each time the Deafener crashes and bangs about.

I am not swapping the OE speakers at this time, so want something with Aux in, USB on front panel, radio, ipod compatible, blueooth audio would be great. Already got a Parrot installation so no need for phone stuff. Looking to spend up to £100.

I know it's not great audio, but for bumbling about in the Defender it will do, if I want concert quality I'll sit in the Range Rover and listen to the Harmon Kardon Logic 7. 2016 D4 HSE

Have you thought about fitting a Land Rover OEM unit, plenty about in that price range even seen some on this forum for sale, some new that the owner has swapped out as the first mod.
I have the Alpine OEM radio fitted and have always been happy with it. For those who like Welsh Mountains and narrow boats have a look at my videos and photos at..

Unless it is the flip out unit from an X Tech, not really, the LR branded ones also look pants and don't have the features of aftermarket specialists. 2016 D4 HSE

Mixed reviews but has ticked my boxes and given faultless service for several years. Have a look at the Parrot range. I have an older single DIN unit but they are simple, stylish and easy to use. I know you said you have a Parrot installation but you could remove it, knock it on and offset against the cost against replacing? Well over your £100 budget I'm afraid but I'd get another like a shot if mine died! They've also advance quite significantly in a short amount of time.

I've always been pleased with the Alpine fitted as OEM on the late model Puma's, though of course that isn't mech-less. But the Alpine UTE-72BT is, and would seem to fit the bill. That's not a dent, it's a rivet. That's not a dent, it's a rivet. That's not ... oh! That is a dent!

Big Russ , I like the look of this one and it appears to have all the extras I would want !!
I've had my Land Rover radio replaced on warranty recently but it's still not good and has started loosing channels again , so time to out it !!
Is the Alpine easy to fit , what about the connectors on the back ? It's a while since I last wired up a new radio ( ford escort days,, many moons ago ) . Will I need any extra connectors ?
