Hi there!
Probably some of you know the maps provided by the Open Street Map Project. https://www.openstreetmap.org/ Those maps are free and are based in a collaborative scheme. Tends to be quite good (at least better than some paid Garmin maps that I seen in the web) Trying to found a good SouthAfrican map for my old Garmin 60csx I reached the following web page that allows you to convert a openstreet map in a Garmin map for the GPS. http://garmin.openstreetmap.nl/ Working pretty well and accurate in my trip to South Africa.
