immobiliser Issue off road
Hi folks,

Need some advice as half way through Morocco.
Have been extensively off road crossing High Atlas etc and any tracks have been extremely punishing.

Vehicle 2012 2.2 110.

After a week my hazard/indicator/alarm on or off lights have started to switch on, during heavy jarring, central locking stops working working simultaneously but the vehicle continues to drive with nonissue. If you stop and kill ignition the flashing continues and key fob switch to lock.unlock don't operate at all.

Put ignition on and all resets.

Pulled hazard and remote locking fuses for few days and vehicle operated ok but manual locking and key fob inoperative buy not heading north on tarmac so fuses back in.

Any ideas? Easy checks?

Vehicle has a x eng ignition shield so 10as coil was relocated.

Has anyone had any similar issues when using the puma heavily offroad for long durations? Cheers in advance!

Dara

i had this issue before with my td5 competition vehicle when it was first built, heavy landings or jarring would cause the exact symptoms you describe,

in the end the only way i found stopped it was by removing the 10AS unit totally & de imobilising the vehicle,
i found even with the flasher relay removed it still did it 110 XS DC M57 + 8 Speed auto

The alarm/central locking unit has an impact sensor, the purpose of which is to unlock the doors and activate the hazard flashers in the event of an accident.

Gents,

Thanks for your advice. Seems most likely that it's the impact sensor inside as you mentioned. Have tried reseting by switching ignition off and then on again. Then off for 10 mins.
For heavy offroading will need to investigate options.

Cheers
