Spot light mount
Does anyone do a mount for spotlights with a/c without an a bar?

Once upon a time there was a shadow bar but not for a/c cars...any pointers? Mike

Hello mse

I also want what you're looking for...

I am currently planning the next job, additional driving lights (spots).

I keep looking at the Defender A Bar and if I had one I'd fit it
but I just can't bring myself to spend that much money.... Shocked
and I really don't want to go down the e-bay route, as establishing
provenance appears to be a real issue with Defender Parts... Cool

I'm not there yet but I sourced a Marine Stainless Steel Handrail
used but in very good condition + top quality, unusually brushed SS
not polished, and I think I will run with this, lots of thinking from here
and no doubt a custom bracket arrangement, with the must have security
considerations.

Now I have this I think I'm going in this direction.

SS Handrails...i.e not the obvious route may be worth thinking about... Exclamation

Now time to take the dog for a walk as she always has a way of just hanging
around until I give in... Rolling Eyes

Seems like nothings moved forward for mounting options.

When i had this problem last time, i plumbed for the a bar - genuine winch version (soft of course - i actually prefer this) but i don't really want either the expense at the moment or an a bar.

I have a disco light bar, but they mount to the bumper?? which is too low as im going LED and height is always preferred and ill be moving my winch over soon so that would then create the same issue.

If only i was good with (or had the patients) to make a bracket. I needs something like the A-Bars top mounting brackets Mike

...of course nothing has moved on, we are talking Defender here Wink

Someone, somewhere produces, or used to produce a dedicated auxiliary light mounting bar that mounted through a standard grille. A Google search ought to produce positive results.

Edited to add that Bob posted what I had in mind while I was typing  Steve.

Thanks, that's the shadow bar i mentioned - that is listed above - unfortunately it doesn't work on AC vehicles (or didnt..i should check that)

I know what your saying with things moving on...but many things do seem to have moved on with the defenders, I'm amazed at how much has changed, is now available and how much more everything is Exclamation

I was at MIRA and a defender had the light bar im looking to buy mounted similarly but i have a feeling it was linked to the winch bumper...ill need to go and think again, if only i could have taken a photo Mike

Ken, could that later-compatible grille be mounted upside down if required, to clear a winch etc?

The grill comes on its own or with LAZER LEDs and can be mounted either way up. But they are not that cheap!!

I have fabricated some brackets to fit my spots onto the bumper without having an a-bar or similar.
I came accross the same issue i have a/c and oem light guards so the L/R option didn't fit and i don't want to hack the grille to use the disco light bar.
Just waiting for my spots to arrive and then i'll post my solution and a template for them. Thumbs Up

Flyingfocrs, could you post what you ended up with?
I don't like the Shadowbar, seems there is too much hanging out front and the lights are too far forward.

Design your own, find a local fabricator and get some made up. A few minutes and you could get exactly what you want at minimal cost. I had some spotlight ones made that picked up the original template of the A-Bar mounting itself. I know you don't have an A-Bar but adapting is the key here not an off the shelf solution perhaps?
