You can get them with and without the black lettering, you choose when you buy them (or not as the case may be, but you should be able to). If you get them with and don't want it, you can put the lettering inside.
As for the snowflake, just because one tyre size is rated for winter traction doesn't mean they all are. Skinnier tyres always will give you more traction so it's not that surprising. |

H'mm, weird - my BFG A/T 265 do have the mountain and snow flake symbol (and white lettering - on the inside)... Cheers, Vincent

two versions of the BFG Ko (and I don't mean the Ko2) look at the shoulders one pattern is slightly squarer

There are definitely two versions of the old AT KO, my spare is a non snowflake marked 265/75R16 and I believe is a different speed rating. I think it is Q rated not S. 1988 90 Td5 NAS soft top
