110 wiper motor check/removal
Wiper Motor

Can anyone tell me the easiest way to get into the wiper motor on my 2009 110 defender. Just cannot figure how to get in at it.

The fuse was blown I have replaced it but wipers still not working and new fuse ok.

Thanks

Dash out unfortunately. A few pointers here perhaps? It may be just the park switch?

You can remove the wiper moter without actually removing the dash, but you do need to remove all the dash fasteners so that you can pull the enture dash a few inches away from the bulkhead. It isn't difficult, but equally isn't a job for the faint-hearted.

I've actually done it in heavy rain at the roadside mid-journey when the wipers conkied out once! All part of the experience that is Defender ownership.

That's interesting another option I will probably tackle this with a friend who is a bit more experienced in mechanics than me. Hopefully between the 2 methods we can give it a go.

Thanks

Thanks for the help we undid the screws at the passenger side that's the top Torqs, side ones at the door and the underneath one at the foot well checked we had voltage to the motor. My friend noticed rust on the spindle at the passengers side I have been spraying the spindle on the outside with WD40 and the wiper now appears to be working.

Thanks guys for your help. I do not know if I am too impressed with the design having to dismantle so much if the motor requires changing.
