Agree. I could sort something to overcome it, and the gear lock and the pedal lock and the............. But in reality there going to give up and most likely take the td5 xs 90 round the corner which has no extra security and is unlocked most of the time.

Many say it but I can guarantee know body could get my 110 away when its parked at home unless you have a large crane or helicopter, as I havent heard may reports of defenders being airlifted out im fairly happy to put that on here Laughing

Also even as the owner im not sure mines worth all the bother anyway Thumbs Up

It certainly fits the Gen 2.8 as that is what I have on mine so I guess it will fit all except the slimline and tilt models.

Simply bolt the boss on to the splines and then bolt on the quick release part

snap on the wheel and hey presto! 16mm more than original which I can live with!

Finnaly the lock, drops over the lower part of the quick release, the bolts can't be got at so quite secure and the key is, well lets just say like nothing I have ever seen before Thumbs Up

This may be a silly question, but I'm very new to this! Is the NRG quick release compatible with Momo steering wheels and boss?

Potentially a daft question, but how many of these keep the indicator self cancel? And as a newb, is this how the parts bolt together

Normally: Splined shaft -> Wheel
New Wheel: Splined Shaft -> 6 bolt adapter -> New wheel
QR: Splined Shaft -> 6 bolt adapter -> fixed half of QR -> Wheel half of QR -> Wheel
When removed -> 6 bolt adapter -> fixed half of QR -> Locking mechanism.

Then the other half of the QR boss goes with the wheel?

miker Most bosses have the indicator cancel pins, if not it's not difficult to drill a couple of small holes and knock in a couple of small roll pins. And yes you have it correct, that's why all the components need to be quite slim so as not to bring the wheel towards you too much. Mine is about (if I recall correctly)just under 3/4" further out.

Hi,

Sorry to bring this up again but I'm after some info re; quick release + slim steering wheel bosses.

I have a 15 plate 90 and will be fitting a Momo Quark wheel and want the slimmest set up I can get with a quick release and lockable centre.

I like the ones shown below with the NRG locking centre.

I'd like to know if anyone has bought them in the UK or are they only available from the states ??

Dora - do you know how thick your 'Sringalex' ally boss was machined down to? I've started machining mine. I've machined the front edge down to the top of the inner boss which contains the splines. Did you machine anything off the back face where the boss has the two pin holes for indicator cancelling?

The new QR bosses from Optimill do not require the adaptor to fit on the column, and are, as far as I know, the slimmest QR bosses by a considerable margin.

I've just fitted Optimill 48 spline quick release boss and it does not alter the steering wheel distance by any noticable amount and is built like a tank. Very happy.

Likewise. The monster assembly shown fitted in my pohoto above has now been replaced with the Optimil version, which is much more comfortable to use. Excellent quality.

The only criticism I have of it is that the release knobs are self coloured (unlike the one it replaced on which they are black anodised) which means that I spend a lot of time watching their faint reflection in the windscreen. Not a problem, but black would have been better.
