I use a decent quality 10W40 semi synthetic. It doesn't need anything special for these engines, but I don't use bargain basement stuff either.

I buy 25 litre drums of 10/40 semi synth from Comma or Morris. Last lot was £35 with my discount. Change every 4-5K miles
