When you guys are there please can you take a look at the seats of the Corris Grey Adventures.
I did the tour today and noticed that none of them were Pimento coloured. I would consider having one if the seat colour could be changed, however my dealers says it can't. |

After checking out the suggestions on the other thread regarding hotels, we have booked a room at the Deer Park Farm B&B. Looks really interesting, it's B&B but you prepare it yourself in the kitchen in your room! Will post update after we've stayed.

Did the tour this afternoon and three hours just flew by. Really interesting and the place was chock full of celebration models. For £45 it's a bargain

Booked to go towards the end of October, got one of a handful of tickets left. I think there were about 4 other slots when I got mine...
9 people in a group, 2 groups a day? JLR have managed to get paid nearly £1k per day for doing their normal jobs! |

When I did the tour the morning group was split into 3 (maybe about 7 in each, can't really remember, but a bit less than 9 I suspect). So potentially something like 40 a day rather than 18.

Hey shaggydog you'll love it
I went last Tuesday with my dad and sister (she kept laughing at all the other people on the tour, "Land Rover Geeks" in their land rover T shirts) also commented that there were only 6 women on the production line! If your tall don't go in the very back of the 147 (the kennel as he called it ) you don't see anything and I spent the time propping the headlining up with my head I did notice on the 147's (TD5's by the way ) that there was a plastic cover on the rear crossmember hole where you can put the towing electrics plug, does anyone know if this is an available part/ part number? heres a pic stole of the web you can just almost see it. Click image to enlarge They were making loads and loads of heritage models when I was there, I love the grassmere green (great name too). I did feel a bit like an owl at one point because my head was going everywhere trying to see everything We had Graham as the tour guide to him and I hope he enjoy his new defender when he gets it. 3 hours will fly by enjoy |

Especially as I'm 6'2" Don't worry about the owl, I will no doubt be looking somewhat like this Running Restoration Thread http://www.defender2.net/forum/post323197.html#323197 Self confessed mileage hunter |

Don't forget your Land Rover T shirt
I'm about 6'5" so yea I don't really fit I love a bit of Fry and Laurie that's what I looked like but in a hi vis, safety goggles and headphones great look safety owl Also we got a bit marched past the final production line bit (not safe to stand there apparently) but that's where everything comes together so walk slow I would say and take a good look, the view is a bit blocked by pallets of body work and things but that's where they put all the engine bits, interior, and bodywork on the chassis and the defenders little face on. I would have rather been there longer and spent less time in the back to 1948 bit (which is a bit to long) Also they may give you a bit of defender to take home , I was hoping it was a whole one but no Chris |
