Seems to hit the nail on head...
http://jalopnik.com/if-range-rovers-are-so...1728727599 From a self interested point of view, I wish I liked Jags and lived in America - free servicing and 5 year warranties... Maybe if the new Defender has a slow take up and JLR consider sweetening the deal, or at least offering parity with other models in other markets? |

We are on our third RR over the last seven years, never, ever had a problem with any of them!

Who says Range Rovers are unreliable?
It's not my experience, and I'm now on my 4th in a row and 5th overall spanning over ten years. 2016 D4 HSE 1998 110 TUM HS FFR Hard Top XD WOLF 1982 Series 3 SWB Petrol |

My experience of two from new was that they both had issues including alternator, ACE unit, differential, knocking suspension bushes (multiple), exterior trim falling off, turbo actuator arm...
JLR spent £543m on warranty in 2015 on sales of £21.8b so that's 2.48%. There's no way JLR are going to make public the individual spend on model, so just one way of cutting that figure would be: Averaged out on a RR starting at £74,950 that would equal a warranty cost of £1,861 per vehicle. If yours has cost nothing then just double the figure for your neighbour! http://annualreport2015.jaguarlandrover.com/ |

“SNOBBERY?”
Of course! Many (most?) owners of new RRs bought them solely to impress on non-RR owners that “I have a vehicle that costs more in depreciation than you earn”. In much the same way that many (most?) owners of new Defenders bought them solely to impress on non-Defender owners that “I have a vehicle that’s more butch than yours”. Peter |

It's one of the most opulent vehicles to drive on the road
I doubt I will ever drive a Big Rolls Royce, but other than that don't think anything will beat the drive of a FFRR for that "Magic Carpet" ride feel G My confidence has been writing cheques that my abilities can't cash for years. |

Is that the point JR was making? I took it to mean a form of inverted snobbery, i.e. those who can't afford a RR slag it off for being unreliable. |

To be honest, I give a damn about non-Defender owners cars - I bought my Defender to be able to wave to other Defender drivers
