That's a pity Catherine, have you fallen out of love with it?
I actually had a guy track me down to my office today asking to look at my SMC as he's looking to buy a Nero (a new one right enough) |

Yes we are, it's been short but in fairness we wouldn't have missed it for the world. It's an itch now scratched. 2015 Audi Q3 Quattro S Line Plus 184 TDI Stronic

Not fallen out with it, but I'm just being a little apprehensive after the rather large bill 6 weeks ago. Someone will get a good truck. 2015 Audi Q3 Quattro S Line Plus 184 TDI Stronic 2010 90 SMC Over Land Nero Edition - Santorini Black Metallic (Now Departed) |

Know how you feel, I'm just sorting my departure from the fold. Hope the future is more reliable for you.

Sorry to hear that you will be selling. Can I ask what you will replace it with? For those who like Welsh Mountains and narrow boats have a look at my videos and photos at..

Chalk and cheese, I think the only thing I could replace the defender with is a pick up. You either need a utility vehicle or you don't. There is no point driving such a slow, noisy , clunky truck if an lovely Audi will do the job.

A lovely Audi or any other decent vehicle would undoubtedly cut the mustard for me too. I have never had 'need' of a Defender just the uncontrollable desire. Just seen this on another current thread that just about sums it up and worthy of a quote......
Not sad at all in my book and 'does it for me' too! Noise, clunks, warts 'n' all! If you go through life with your head in the sand....all people will see is an ar5e!! Treat every day as if it is your last....one day you will be right!! |

Looking at it from a slightly different perspective, we needed to change from a Disco 1 that was falling apart, but wanted a 4x4 that still felt like one; ie diff locks and handbrake levers etc rather than touch panel settings! The Defender was the only one left ...
Good luck Catherine, sorry to see you go! That's not a dent, it's a rivet. That's not a dent, it's a rivet. That's not ... oh! That is a dent! 2014 90 XS SW 1997 Discovery 300TdiS (retired to stud) 1966 Series IIA 88" (now my son's) 2001 Astra - I need something to go and buy the parts when the others are off the road! |

Only ones on my mind I'd even consider is Hilux (3.0L) heard it's a bit heavy on fuel though.
Shogun (expensive though) And Disco, Disco trumps both of the above. Personally I'm keeping my 90 as long as I can, have no intentions of selling or swapping. |
