Peter,

Does the wheel carrier have a mechanisum to keep the door from closing on you?
Also what would the shippment cost be to Scotland?

I use a Sonic wheel carrier and I now just swing it open to hitch on without needing to open the door. Once the hitch is latched I turn the jockey wheel handle till I can clear the wheel carrier and close it Thumbs Up

Solution: Get a wheel carrier off Sonic Bow down 59 2.4 110 XS Utility

If I still had my DC I would buy a sonic.
But as I've now got a rear doora and the wheel already opens with the door I would like to keep it that way, plus she wouldn't like the idea of having to open a wheel carrier and then a door (she might brake a nail). Russell

Cibit I would love to get a sonic carrier. Unfortunately it would not work , I refer you to the diagram at the start of the post. The back door sits exactly 22mm from the front locker of the caravan when open (sonic wheel carrier is longer than that.) Also the sonic carrier would when opened hit the handbrake handle even when the handbrake is disengaged. Beleive me when I say that I drove 21 miles to the storage site where I keep my van on a wet day and spent an hour measuring heights and distances and trying to see if sonics would fit. and also the boat trailers swinging arm would stop the carrier and the rear door from opening altogether Big Cry

The WC does not have a holding mechanism as we recommend our gas strut.

BTW: this is a special gas strut wich works in horizontal position for a long time, standard ones give up in that position. WANTED:

Russell,
just ordered the Wheel carrier, Glove box and rear chequer plate from Nakatanenga and the cost for shipping these items to me in Carluke, just outside Glasgow is 31 euros. Thumbs Up

Was also going to order the gas strut but with 3 dogs in the back I dont always want or need the rear door to open fully incase they escape Dog

Would anyone have a link for the gas strut, as I don't speak German and can't find it on their site.
