I had a silver grill and headlight surrounds and hated them.

Not for me I'm afraid, just looks a bit too shiny and blingy, brunel grey looks good.

I've got brunel and was thinking of trying body colour or satin black, all that actually matters is if you like it DEFENDER 90 TDCI XS,
I hope everyone is well and your land rovers make you happy |

Too much chrome for me, but it's your wagon so stick with what you like.

I don't think it looks too bad, but I'd probably wait and see what you think when you get the Boosts on, that will probably make a big difference to the whole 'look' and might help to bring it all together. Listen to me, I sound like one of those flouncy shirted interior designers!!! |

I'd vote too bling as well... However, I do have a mono colour Defender, so I'm hardly unbiased.

I think therein lies the answer. People on the forum generally are the type who adhere to the "if you can't say anything nice don't say anything at all" We all do things we like to our cars. Personally I think the silver spray you've used looks cheap and nasty like a Halfords job. The OE Brunel grey might have been better. Indeed, generally they are, although sometimes rude comments are made too but I'm sure no one will say anything like that here.
Oops, I was wrong Actually I was one of the 59. It's shiny and chromey and for me makes the front look heavier which accentuates the standard wheels looking a bit weedy. With larger tyres and wheels with more offset or spacers it would look different again. But what do I know? I went from dual finish alloys to wolf steels and I love it. When I posted my pics I got one person who said they though it looked ok. The silent majority's voice was much louder but I don't care, I still think it looks great and seeing as it's my money that's fine. If you have a look in mind search the web for others similar and pinch ideas from here and there and make it yours. The great thing with a Defender is you can put it back or make it totally different with a few hours spannering 2015 110 USW XS in Santorini with premium contrast leather seats in tan/black, black headlining and with Dual Finish alloys (in the garage, now on Wolf rims with Goodyear MT/Rs) 2012 '62' 2.2 X-Tech 110 USW now gone ... 1984 90 soft top with full roll cage, 200 tdi engine etc now sold 2012 USW XS 2.2 "FUU" now gone.... |

I too was one of the 59. It was a brave move but thankfully can be easily rectified. If you go through life with your head in the sand....all people will see is an ar5e!!
Treat every day as if it is your last....one day you will be right!! |
