I use to be a Forest Engineer for almost 15 years working mainly in develop sawmills and pulp & paper projects in a Swedish/Finish company. Quite funny work in special when the projects start the construction.
At that time I travel a lot inside Chile and abroad Also there I meet my wife. She is a forest engineer also, but dedicated to the forest management. At that time we were the ideal couple. She planting and growing the trees and I cutting it and put it in boards. 13 years ago I moving to the energy area, more less in the same working area in one of the major generation companies here in Chile (coal, hydro, solar, natural gas), my primary work is developing the growth strategy (the funny part) and provide all the reports needed (the boring part) Cheers Eduardo MY 2007 110 SW PUMA 2.4: Big Fog of 64' MY 1994 Jayco 1207 Folding camper: "El Tremendo"  Click image to enlarge |

i got badly injured playing soldiers in the sun.....
after years of ups and downs im happily retired early . the wife tells me what toys i got now ...... 
eldest son has just graduated and my youngest is hoping to go go uni in a few years. |

I am a university lecturer specialising in the structure and analytics of the English language. English Language is an evolving phonological tongue.
I have been teaching for thirty five years, firstly as an English teacher in a large Manchester Comprehensive school, then as head of English at a private Grammar school. I joined MMU fourteen years ago and now have my own department. Over the last thirty five years I have seen immense changes in our education system and not all for the better; I have also despaired at times with the change for change sake that various governments have implemented on our state education system. I enjoy my profession immensely and the positive attitude that my students bring to my course. Blimey Lorryman I thought I was reading my own post. I left school in 1968 and was an apprenticed Agricultural Engineer for six years followed by three years at Ag college gaining a degree in the subject. Along came the common market and a decline in British agriculture which found me working eventually for Lucas electrical. Prior to this I was employed by Royal Dutch Shell as a project manager and technical advisor for their workshops. 28 years of that frankly was enough so I quit the proper job and went to drive trains, followed by a Driver Instructor and Driver Standards manager. Now we're called Competence developers. Probably the main benefit of this move are the hours and the pension. Come in, go home when I feel like it and retire at 55. I elected to stay on and have a few months to go before state pension because it's reasonably easy. There are times when you have to assist the coroner putting bits and pieces in body bags but that makes the job slightly less boring than it is normally.
  I started with nothing and still have most of it left! |

When I left School I worked for a Iveco main dealer as an apprentice then worked my way up to Master Tech then Foreman, I was there 13 years. I've recently moved to a oil additives company that manufactures the additives that
go into mid to high end oils and fuels, my role now is a Rater rating engine and driveline componants for wear, damage and carbon/sludge build up. I'm a forester and currently work for Forest Enterprise Scotland, which manages the Scottish national forest estate on behalf of Scottish Government.
My area of work is harvesting and marketing, so I manage felling and thinning operations across the district. A very varied job involving a wide range of machinery, customers, contractors as well as dealing with large numbers of external bodies/stakeholders. Get to work in some amazing places and manage to strike a perfect balance between office work and being out in the forests. Land Rover content is that I use my car to get about the district & sites 
Very rewarding and I enjoy it immensely. |

I'm a shift operator on a oil refinary in Ellesmere Port, before that I spent 10 years working for ICI on a chemical plant doing similar work.
I've not had a 9 to 5 job since I left school nearly 20 yrs ago |
