Well, having just sold YOLO, my tricked up 110, I am now the VERY proud owner of a brand spankers Defender 90...
in lovely Keswick Green! Always deep down wanted the classic simplicity of this... white steelies, white roof. Love it! Quite nicely specced as is usual for OZ cars... A/C and Premium Leather seats too, which are very comfortable! Built in June 2015 too, so a quick trip out here. As my local dealer could not source me one, I had to fly up to mid New South Wales to collect it from a country dealer who gave me excellent customer service through the entire process and a bottle of wine and chocolates on delivery! An umbrella too.... which I will bring back to the UK lol! Had a 680 km drive back home which I did over 2 leisurely days... and for a brand new tight motor with only 14km on the clock when I left, I averaged 30 mpg!!! Well impressed! This one will remain pretty much standard as I don't really want to defile it! I will add my favourite Momo steering wheel plus a few leather trim pieces to the interior, plus some sound-proofing and maybe carpet too. Here she is with about 350km on the clock in a typical Oz 'rest area'! Click image to enlarge I will post some more photos soon! Cheers, Pete :D Admin note: this post has had its images recovered from a money grabbing photo hosting site and reinstated YOLO... You Only Live Once... |

Congratulations Pete...
Neat looking truck in that awesome Green colour and a great back story... I am torn about the wheels for Mamba's replacement, I like the HDs, but I also really like the Sawtooth look... Rog... Very nice truck Pete. The best colour combo for a Defender. That Keswick/white would have been my choice too, but for my particular version JLR gave me the same colour options as Henry Ford gave for the Ford T model (if someone on here still remembers what that was),.... "Any customer can have a car painted any colour that he wants so long as it is black". If, and I say if, you ever change those wheels, I would not go further than the white steel Wolf wheels, which give you a wider choice of tires in 235 width, but will look equally good on your truck. By the way, I have a friend with a Keswick 110 here with same standard wheels and tires as yours, and he is very happy with their performance and quietness. Congrats. Eric P.S. only one thing wrong I see,.... Solihull put the steering wheel at the wrong side. You never actually own a Defender. You merely look after it for the next generation. http://youtu.be/yVRlSsJwD0o https://youtu.be/vmPr3oTHndg https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_GtzTT9Pdl0 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ABqKPz28e6A https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rLZ49Jce_n0 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XvAsz_ilQYU https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K8tMHiX9lSw https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=dxwjPuHIV7I https://vimeo.com/201482507 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZSixqL0iyHw |

Cheers for all the replies guys!
I LOVE this truck! Interesting about the HD 'Wolf' wheels. I thought I would definitely get these to replace the simple solid white 5.5 inch steels with the 'old fashioned' 7.5 c X 16 R tyres... but having the truck now, I do believe I have changed my mind about this! HD's look great and yes, give a better range of tyre options. But having seen and now living with this combo, it actually REALLY suits the classic look... I love it! Not to mention the obvious that keeping is standard will save me some good wedge! Having now gone from my 110 to the 90, I think I prefer the 90... it feels 'tighter' and boy, the turning circle (if you can call it that) is SO much better too! Went up into the Oz bush to see the sun set tonight and the Keswick green just felt so at home with the environment... I think, no I KNOW that I will have many happy miles and experiences with 'her'... name TBD! YES indeed, I am now also REALLY looking fwd to the Heritage... for my dotage in the UK with happy memories of a great decision and choice to buy this one and sell YOLO! And yes, sold YOLO at a good profit of all things... thanks to the end of the era and the crazy Oz dollar!!! Happy days! YOLO... You Only Live Once... |

Great looking truck mate ...how are you liking the 90 over the 110..i have a 90 and sometimes i yearn for extra space of a 110 but in the end i think the 90 is better suited for my needs......wish i could afford both![/quote] I prefer the 90! Just me, so it suits my needs better. Surprisingly, I think it drives better too! YOLO... You Only Live Once... |
