My TD5 light comes on with 2.5 gallons left in the tank. Filled up immediately after it lit up.
How much of that is usable I have no idea but have done 30 miles with it on.

My puma 110 has about 15% left when the light comes on. It also seems to be remarkably consistent (which is nice).

My td5 was much less reliable. When the light came on, I had a few miles to get to a station. The fuel gauge also moved around a lot so I stopped using it and relied instead on the trip counter to indicate 330 miles (which was my limit). I ran it out of fuel once and ever since have carried 5L in the back Very Happy One that started out as a 2.4 TDCi 110 XS

I did 30 miles with the light on yesterday. I used to play chicken with my disco, drove for miles with distance to go on zero miles. As I waited to pull into the garage it misfired oops,

An update on this:

With a full tank I drove 483km until the light came on the other day. I filled up the aux tank and drove around with the light on, and managed 60km before the engine misfired this morning on the way to work.
