Hi all,
Found a discrepancy in the workshop manual regarding the low fuel warning. Page numbers refer to the one-PDF version: Pg 803: A warning lamp is incorporated in the instrument cluster and illuminates when the fuel level is at or below 10 liters (2.64 US gallons). Pg 804: The instrument cluster activates the yellow low fuel warning light, (next to the fuel gauge) with 15% of fuel remaining in the tank. The fuel gauge will indicate empty with 11% of fuel left in the tank. Now in the 90, 15% of 56L = 8.4L so which specification is the correct one!? |

Nah, that can't be right. I have run for 50km after the light has come on. There is something wrong with your tank/fuel level sender. |

Mine is a 90 too - I often do about another 20 miles once the light comes on before I fill up again. I'm guessing there is more left as well...?

I have consistently 13L left +/- 1 L when the warning light comes on in my 90 XS 2010.

Fekete, as an example:
Two days ago the fuel light came on, with 452km on the clock. I drove until this morning to 473km and filled her up, only 50L went in, so another 6L or so in there. So working backwards, looks like there was approx 8L in the tank, which is closer to the 15% indicator than the 10L one. |

When the fuel light comes on in my 90XS I always go for another 30mls before I fill her up. Cogito ergo sum

Slight misquote perhaps? Does anybody appreciate how hard Fekete's 90 has to work lugging all that weight around? After all he is 'The Great Northern Pie Eater Extrordinaire!' Naks,
8.4L is 2.2 US Gal. 10L is 2.6 US Gal. I've driven my 110 and put 70L in the tank when I refilled. I'd already added 4 x 20L jerry cans trying to get to the nearest fuel outlet and I think the Puma was running on vapour. By all accounts the vehicle should have cut out or what ever it does when it has reached the minimum fuel level. I find the fuel light cuts in around 15% left (64L used) of the tank's supposed 75L of the 110. I wonder if they just forgot to change the calibration for the 90 110 2.4TDCi 110 300Tdi LROCV ::: AULRO.com |
