Hi all! It is Olivia hijacking dad's login! Thank you all for the great comments! I'm glad you enjoyed reading it. It is interesting to see many different views regarding the future of Landy.
It is clear that this similar debate has been raised with other companies like Mini/BMW and Fiat as Joe has mentioned. I actually own a Fiat 500 and I love it! But I can see how there is a division of opinion with Mini. With regard to the 110 heritage edition. I saw a couple in Solihull. I didn't think they were going to look as great as they did. I had always thought that the 90 would suit the heritage more, I have been proven wrong! Happy Chugging! |

I did the tour on Monday, like everyone else I can't believe how "hand made " they are, our guide reckons production will be extended beyond its current date, how long he wouldn't say, however my mate came with me, he is in stock control software he has several customers who supply JLR and particularly defenders they reckon production may be moved to Turkey but it is just a rumour, maybe just wishful thinking on their part I dunno

Don't recall where I read it - but apparently it is Slovakia.

I think the Slovakia story is about new production to start in 2018, and no actuals model have been named yet.
The Turkey story is about where the current tooling and production line may move to when finished with in the UK. |

As above, myself and another def2 member from Geneva will take the afternoon tour on monday 7 December... Anybody else on here booked the same? I know the tour is sold out for that afternoon. Eric You never actually own a Defender. You merely look after it for the next generation. http://youtu.be/yVRlSsJwD0o https://youtu.be/vmPr3oTHndg https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_GtzTT9Pdl0 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ABqKPz28e6A https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rLZ49Jce_n0 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XvAsz_ilQYU https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K8tMHiX9lSw https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=dxwjPuHIV7I https://vimeo.com/201482507 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZSixqL0iyHw |

I looked at the website quite a few times before buying.
I noticed that often you could look and say the whole of September showed no availability, then look again a couple of days later and there were plenty. Not sure whether it is cancellations, or whether they are deliberately releasing a few at a time, maybe to even out demand? No idea. But if anyone wants a ticket and they haven't got any, might be worth while looking again later rather than giving up |

Just booked me and the good lady on the morning tour for October 1st. Not many slots left now!
Why do other people look unimpressed when you tell them you're going on a factory tour?! |
