Bit of time on my hands today so I relocated the new led worklight to the middle of the motor and fitted the reversing camera that's been sat in a box for the past 6 months.
And they both work!

That's a Martello Tower isn't it? Built to keep Bonaparte out of England.

United Kingdom 1999 Defender 110 Td5 SW Caledonian Blue
Had a fight replacing the front shocks and spring (done one side.....almost)
Once the shock was out the spring came out easily and new one went in OK as well.

Spent 2.5 hrs yesterday for one side. Top shock nut seized as was the bottom one.
Anyways after a fight with the grinder, buzz gun and swearing its out.
Shock out and spring out.

1.45hr today just finishing the passanger side. (well almost)
Its all back together now the only Censored is the top shock bolt in the turret.
How the hell do you compress the bushes enough to get the top wash on and the nut?
I can get the nut on to pull the shock up, but as soon as i remove the nut, the top of the shock goes too low to get the washer and the nut on?

Please....How...!!!!!??????

The otherside is going to a garage to do. 1999 Defender TD5 110

Im sure someone more professional than I will have a better suggestion, but when i did mine, I'm petty sure i put a trolley jack under the front axle and jacked it up to compress the spring / bushes to get the nuts on and tighten up.

Sussed! I took a break grabbed a brew and youtubed! Ended up with a Devon 4x4 video and sussed what I had done wrong.
When resembling the shock I had the top bushes in the wrong order. I had two bushes below the top of the turret, instead of one below and one on top!
Now that's sussed it took me 15mins to put right. 1999 Defender TD5 110
