Gearbox oils
Hi sorry to bring up the oil topic

I want to change my gearbox and transfer box oils but I am very limited in oil choices where I am.

How important is it to use the exact specified oils? Could I just use any fully synthetic 75w-90 and put the same in both boxes?

T box is EP90 is it not?

gbox LR would have you believe is specific to them but you can get the same product elsewhere at about £45 for 5l. Cheers

personally I wouldn't put a thin full syn in transfer box

80/90 gear oil would be my choice in transfer

75/90 full syn in gearbox

Use GL-4 rated oil for the gearbox. I do not recommend GL4/GL5 oils for gearboxes. GL-5 is not backwards compatible for synchros, but it is for "gears".

And by the way the LT230QRS TBOX can be filled with synth 75W/90 (GL-4 or GL-5) Puma 110" SW
