The ring of nuts that hold the diff into the axle casing are usually 3/8" UNF.
That part number does resolve to an M16 nyloc nut though, so not sure you have the right part number. Unless they started using M16 studs to hold the diffs in on later models? NY - Nut, nyloc 1 - Metric 16 - M16 |

Thanks Retroanaconda,
The part number may well be wrong. I want sure what the nut would be classed as and thats the closed I could find on the web. I've no idea how to find part number properly!! Something I'm sure I'll learn over time!! lol I've tried all the M16 bolts I have in the nut but the threat on them is to coarse to fit or maybe they just were the wrong size!! Many thanks, I'll have a hunt for them then 2006 Defender Double Cab- Zambezi Silver |

M16 nuts would normally have a head size for a 24mm spanner , m16 is also tow ball bolt size
as said 3/8 unf , so would be 9/16 spanner size or a 14mm spanner would be tight fit |

Thanks all,
I think I was getting a bit confused with sizes. Munch90, that's sounds right for the sock size I used. Makes sense now Cheers Martin, I think I'll head out a grab a few. 2006 Defender Double Cab- Zambezi Silver |
