Alby, got to agree. My scout troop are still using Force 10's, and all of them are older then the kids are

Well when you pull h zip down it has to go right to the bottom and as it narrows you tend to lean against the tent and get wet, also with no canopy the area where the door is does get wet and muddy after prolonged stays.
You could use the zip the other way zipping from the bottom to the top but then you sneeze thought the tort opening and still get wet. But it doesn't put us off, and tentipi do now sell a porch that will solve this issue and give you a bit more covered storage area Russell 2011MY 110 XS USW Black |

Recently bought an Oztent RV-5 from Brendan (Leeds on here). Much better to deal with than official importer BOAB. Really helpful, personal service and very efficient when I had few things to sort.
Have used our RV-5 twice so far and will be pitching it at Billing tomorrow. Recommend the peaked side panels and have just got the front panel as well as adds to privacy/space and makes a good shelter for inclement weather. My brief assessment of Oztent RV-5 is: PROS - Well made & reassuringly waterproof - Built-in awning is very useful - More practical than a roof tent (if you have kids or want to leave it erected and drive off) - Decent price considering price of Tentipi and the like CONS - Blinkin' heavy - Has to go on roof rack, too big for putting inside vehicle - RV-5 still isn't massive, but enough for 2 adults and 2 kids Hope that helps! 2015 110 XS CSW Montalcino Red with Black Pack |

its the Beast
ill be putting a roof tent on with some awning . its all made to the highest standards lots of storage gas connection burner gas bbq 1500 watt inverter leisure battery soon a quiet generator water storage . and i may be putting a nice big solar panel on the front slab ........
it was a friends who sold me it ..... i had just got a new sankey with a roof tent ..... im still deciding what one to keep and what one to move on .......

I can also promote the Tentipi
2 adults, 2 kids We have the Safir CP7, they are not cheap but the quality I would say is second to none. Previous family tent was a big Coleman Mackenzie cabin 4 which was huge and weighed 25kg, It occurred to me though that this tent albeit big had separate zipped off bedrooms which therefore deemed 50% of the tent unusable during social times you'd all sit in the 'lounge' area which was the other half of the tent. madness! The Tentipi Safir CP7 weighs in at around 12kg including the ground sheet so its half the weight, probably half the packed size, and the fabric is seriously heavy duty compared to the lightweight Coleman fabric. You also use the vast single space inside in a slightly more what I'd call nomadic fashion, during the day your sleeping bags a flipped back or piled on top of each other to one side giving you a huge area to be social in. At night the beds are slid out again for sleeping. Did I mention it only has 1 pole...! how easy can it be! Sorry its not a Defender in the pics but a Rover no less!
One more thing for the Tentipi, I bought mine here in Norway but I bought 2 of these pole hangers from Taunton Leisure in the UK which are great for hanging lanterns but also jackets, towels etc. https://www.tauntonleisure.com/robens-pole-hanger/p13142 Taunton are also a UK seller for the Tentipi. |

Best set up we had way back was our trusty 200tdi CSw with howling moon 3m dome and extension
