What engine have you got? I'm going to guess Td5. I have a V-reg Discovery 2 that has done this for 5 years we've owned it. Not found the answer (have changed the injector loom). Sorry that's not much help.
Regards Mark. |

Injector loom is a td5 problem not a tdci one
sorry to say your tdci problem doesnt sound a common one you say once run for few mins its then fine for rest of journey, until you turn it off then on again? how long do you have to leave it before it plays up again ?, off then back on does it play up ? Or after few hours |

Hi
It's straight away - I could do 50 miles turn it off for a couple of seconds and same on restart...it's odd! |

Do you have any DTCs (fault codes) stored on the ECU? If so, what are they?
If no stored codes, I would tend to suspect the infamous Volume Control Valve on the fuel pump. It can cause almost any peculiar fuelling symptom and generally doesn't cause DTCs. Most other faulty components will give rise to DTCs. |

HI
Only codes are related to MAF + EGR - I claened the egr and the maf a couple of days ago and it's not made a difference There looks to be some oil weeping around the fuel pump - I'm wondering if this could be ralated? |

OK, a MAF fault or an EGR fault could be causing the symptoms you describe (the EGR being the more likely of the two) so it might be worth trying to sort those out first. Do you know what the fault codes are?
Did you clear the faults after cleaning the MAF and EGR, and if so have the faults returned? Incidentally this emoticon - - was designed especially to illustrate what happens when the VCV plays up! It is really frustrating because the range of possible symptoms is so large, it doesn't seem possible that one component can cause them all without producing a DTC! |
