Rattle from rear left wheel when breaking
Hi,

I am getting a rattle from the rear left wheel area when lightly applying the break and also when going over speed bumps.

I am a complete novice but had a poke around underneath and noticed that there is a spring missing from one of the bolts in what i assume is the casing for the break disc/pads, please see photo for where i mean. When given a shake it does sound like the rattle could be coming from this area.

Could this be causing the rattle? The performance of the vehicle is normal but the rattling has gotten slightly worse over a few weeks.

Any help and advice welcomed.

The vehicle is a 110 Hardtop with Puma engine.

110 rear pads rattle badly i am afraid. A spring missing wont help but ours has new fitting kits fitted and they still rattle. I did read that fitting two springs to each pin helps but have yet to try. 02' 110 TD5 Double Cab Rebuild Thread

thanks, it's good to know its a common problem, being a first time defender owner i'm concerned whenever there's a new noise coming from somewhere.
