check the fuel filter is not full of water, it is located behind a plate in the offside rear wheel arch.
to check remove cover (no tools required) then undo the bleed screw at base of filter and see what comes out. not uncommon to get crap diesel abroad and often with a lot of water in it. |

Sorry to ask, but if it stopped just after filling up, you're sure you filled up with diesel and not petrol?
If your car is under warranty, you could call LR assist they should be able to help all over Europe. Or else try Land Rover in Millau: Land Rover Car's Services. 421 bd Georges Brassens zac Cap du Crès 12100 MILLAU Tél. : (0033) 565604144 |

Thank you...
Filled up with diesel.. Had some hic's before fill and one stall, but car drove normal afterwards. Checked the fuel valve on top (green cap) pushed the valve and the fuel came out under pressure. So I expect this is all right. (Don't know if the pressure is enough). Called road assistance. They picked up the car and brought it to a Bosch service station. They have lunch break until 14:00. So i have to wait. |

Hi Quirin,
Did they sort you out at the Bosch service center? Sure hope so. Kinda anxious to hear what the issue was. My thoughts would be diesel algae in the filter as you ran the tank pretty much dry. If that was the case a bottle of Forté or any diesel conditioner for that matter every 2000ish miles prevents algae from forming. Good luck and enjoy your vacation. |

Traveled 285km again to the Costa Brava with no Major issues.
The problem was a loose flywheel pick-up. No pulse to the ECU so no signal to the injectors. Thank you all for your help. Regards Q. |

Sure he didn't say 'double the dose' rather than just 'stay on?'
In NO WAY WHATSOEVER does my post indicate I have any remote interest in what may or may not be wrong with your truck this week by the way. If you go through life with your head in the sand....all people will see is an ar5e!! Treat every day as if it is your last....one day you will be right!! |
