Extraordinary bit of kit. Looked dead cool (sounding like a teen now) when it lifted out of the water.
No doubt governments will soon be banning these things left, right and center as they become too proliferous and risk crashing into things, each other, people. No way would you be allowed to use Lily on the slopes.... This looks fun though.... Monsieur Le Grenadier I've not been everywhere, but it's on my list..... 2011 Puma 110DC - Corris Grey |

It is already happening.... This one, and not a very small one, went out of control over Geneva, and crashed right into a busy section of the city one morning.... Luckily this time, not on a car, or on a person.... You never actually own a Defender. You merely look after it for the next generation. http://youtu.be/yVRlSsJwD0o https://youtu.be/vmPr3oTHndg https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_GtzTT9Pdl0 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ABqKPz28e6A https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rLZ49Jce_n0 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XvAsz_ilQYU https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K8tMHiX9lSw https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=dxwjPuHIV7I https://vimeo.com/201482507 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZSixqL0iyHw |

Watch the video of the journo with one in a park - it's closer to the reality than a slick promo video.

We have one at work, though it cost a fair bit more than that! We have actually bothered to put the people using it through CAA 'licensing' etc. but it is clear that 99% of people don't bother. As above eventually regulations will be tightened. There are already laws about flying above people, property, highways etc. which again most people ignore.

I'm quite into drones.
I have this one I need to finish off: Click image to enlarge Can be flown manual or set fully autonomous and I could go do something else and leave it to fly what I've told it. Scary what these are capable of. Recent video on YouTube had one of these firing a hand gun completely remotely. The automatic stabilization made it quite accurate and after the backfire, it levelled itself out again with ease. Bloomin scary! |

Was it in Oz that a farmer was using them to help round up his sheep?
Lot's of cost effective uses but also some numpties flying them in totally inappropriate places. |
