Lovely! I remember going to an airshow as a kid (Leconfield I think) where they had two of these taking off in tandem as a "mock scramble"! I've never heard anything so loud before or since!!!

We were there today as well. Went just to see the vulcan! The sound of it, as it climbed and banked was very impressive
I never knew they used a tail parachute on landing. Great day out |

The most frustrating thing for me is that whenever it is "close" I have to keep being Dad's Taxi and can never go to the airshows and to add even more insult to injury, she circled over us on Thursday afternoon before landing at Fairford. You could hear her but not see her due to the low cloud cover, if only it had been like the skies today as there was hardly a cloud in the sky when she was in the air, I did keep an eye out in case her flight pattern required a bigger turn but to no avail.

Flyingfocrs - fantastic video - the last two wing overs appeared to go further than i've seen before, and backs up the talk of it being flown very hard at RIAT
The south-east corner of England is due for a treat tomorrow (Saturday 15th), as XH558 sets off for displays overhead Eastbourne in East Sussex, then Headcorn Aerodrome and Herne Bay in Kent.* |

It's also making an appearance at the Rhyl air show on the 29th August for anyone wanting to grab a chance to see/hear her howl,
I can't wait! |
