went on the tour today
can't believe how hand made they are about 6 robots on the defender line, as oppossed to 300 ? on other lines I'd say that 75% of builds today were heritage (pale greens) and orange adventures (nice 90 orange adventure), most seemed LHD saw 3 or so keswick 90 station wagons - don't think mine (90 hard top keswick) has been made yet it seemed to be station wagons, cant remember seeing any 90 hardtops a handful of autobiographys |

... "I'd say that 75% of builds today were heritage (pale greens) and orange adventures (nice 90 orange adventure), most seemed LHD"...
That's interesting... with a number of peeps on here being told the delivery of their Heritage will be in December... what do they do with them for the next 5 months? YOLO... You Only Live Once... |

As mentioned earlier, my daughter and I attended the celebration tour. She a Land Rover nut and subsequently wrote the following blog posting photographs in the process.

Nice write up Olivia.
Interesting observation on the BMW mini and current Fiat 500. I’ve driven a couple of BMW mini’s as courtesy cars and tend to feel they are a pretty nice experience – I am a complete neutral as I don’t have any “feeling” for the original mini. My son drives a “real” mini and just snorts and shakes his head whenever the BMW one is mentioned - in his view (rightly) the BMW is just a vaguely mini shaped car using the same name. It will be interesting to see how much, if any, series/defender DNA is in the replacement vehicle from LR and if LR could pull off the trick of carrying everyone’s attachment/loyalty to the defender over into its replacement. It will take a whole lot more than a thin “celebration continuation” "mini adventure" type marketing wash… Joe |
