Anyone got Recaro front seats?
Was just reading another thread and slightly hijacked it by asking about where to get the Recaro seats.

TMD do them and they're about £2k a pair. Is this the going rate?

My question is this: With a car like the Defender where there's lots and lots of gear changing and clutch pressing, does the shape of the Recaro seats limit your movement, as they are not as flat as the standard seats or XS seats for example?

Every time I've sat in bucket shaped seats I feel a bit restricted - are these the same?

Are the Recaros much better and nicer to be in than the stock seats? 2016 D4 HSE

At the risk of being labelled a complete "beanie", I think you should really wait for the release of the all new Exmoor seat on the 16/7 Mr. Green

I have one of the genuine SVX Recaro seats fitted to my side (driver)

Now in its 3rd 110,, most excellent seat Smile no issues whatsoever with steering/gear changing, the extra lateral support is far better and most welcome Last time i looked gen Recaro was over £2k each, http://www.rimmerbros.co.uk/Item--i-VPLDS0...oC2uHw_wcB

In hindsight,, would fit the same again, certainly for the driver's side, not so sure i would for the passenger mind !!

Beyond my price range by far but all I can say is they must be ultra special to warrant the price or they wouldn't sell.
Are the seat bases and longer than standard?

I have no doubt that Recaros are the ultimate seat modification for a Defender,..... IF they are suitable for YOUR body.
I've had a few cars with Recaros, & for sure, if you like that "wrap around"/ "snug" fit, then you're going to be very happy,....Like I said, Recaros aren't known as "The Best" for no reason.
However, if you're a bit wide in your "lower regions", you might find them a little bit too "snug".....I did at times, but when I lost some weight, I was OK!!
They also do require a bit of care getting in & out,...if your body continually rubs against the seat bolster, the leather will wear quite quickly.
I am NOT knocking the seat, just saying that in my experience, they may not be for everyone.

There are no bolsters to speak of on the 'official Land Rover' ones. See picture above. Steve the seat base is longer than OEM. Over all a damn sight more comfortable, then again you're paying for it.
