removing dashboard
Hi

I am new to this forum and am trying to find guidance on how to remove dashboard on new 2015 defender 90 so I can install oem Air Conditioner - are there any links or advice - have tried a search but no luck yet and no manuals on this model around it seems!

There are threads on this forum covering this job, but it is not for the faint-hearted. On a 2.4 (which I imagine in very similar to a 2.2) it essential entails:-

Remove the radio
Remove the centre panel (the one the radio fits in)
Remove the steering wheel
Remove the steering column shroud
Remove the stalk switches from the steering column
Remove the gear levers
Remove the instrument panel
Remove the side window demister outlets
Remove the front speakers
Remove the complete dash panel.

Installation is the reverse of the ddismantling procedure.

To remove and refit the entire dash panel is about 1 man-day in labour.

Hi, it's pretty straight forward, every torx head you see, undo it, remove the centre panel first and work your way either side...

I did this on my friends Puma a few years back..

Just make sure you make a note of which screws/bolts go where. Nothing worse than sitting back enjoying what you have accomplished only to find you have a bolt left over!

We have one in later this week, I'll grab some pictures.

There's very very little you could sound proof and I very much doubt it would make any difference if you did

Does anyone know how the insulation is held onto the bulkhead. (The grey soft foamy insulation.) ?
