Which anti-corrosion paste did you use on the stainless steel bolts? You never actually own a Defender. You merely look after it for the next generation. http://youtu.be/yVRlSsJwD0o https://youtu.be/vmPr3oTHndg https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_GtzTT9Pdl0 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ABqKPz28e6A https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rLZ49Jce_n0 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XvAsz_ilQYU https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K8tMHiX9lSw https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=dxwjPuHIV7I https://vimeo.com/201482507 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZSixqL0iyHw |

You have me thinking about how much paste I should of used on each bolt, mmmm. I smeared a fine film down the length of each bolt. Any thoughts/suggestions?

Sorted my wiring issue which kept blowing my spotlight loom fuse.
Turns out when I moved it I had reversed 2 plugs so when triggered it was sending mains voltage to earth Tracked down a rattle in the back which was being caused by a rattly step and then thought about cleaning it but decided to water the garden and do some weeding instead! I have got photos to stick up in my rolling restoration thread of putting in a red bison loom but as my laptop screen is dead on one side it makes it very difficult! Yesterday: after 11 years and a quarter of a million miles it was the first time the door catch tore the rear pocket of my jeans.
Spent the afternoon at work pulling my t-shirt down over the hole... Dave Green Goddess - 1998 Defender 110 300tdi |

Not today but all day yesterday, took a 12 hour round trip to Wales to look at something special hopefully more details in the next week or two defender worked perfectly the whole 450 miles and only my head ache from me probably needing a new glasses prescription for the last half an hour caused any negative Ray

Finally fitted a blue sea fuse box next to the fuses under the seat, and linked to the battery box with flexible conduit. Will be wiring up another day. Additional electrical mods to follow. 2015 90 XS Santorini Black

Removed the window blocks from the truck and added silicone sealant to the gaskets. Also added silicone sealant to the windscreen seal, I essentially added a bead of silicone to the sponge on the outside.
Gave it 30mins and then out with the hose, still a few leaks, but played with the vent flap and eventually no leaks (today). So I think I have cured the window block leaks, and mitigated or cured the windscreen seal leak. I need to remove the vent flaps and fit new seals to the flaps, that way I will have mitigated another leak point. Cheers Andy |
