Henry, I can compare as I have the Recaros in my SVX, while a friend of mine here has the Scheelman seats in his "Hunter" Swiss limited edition.
As Brendan already said, the Scheelman seats are putting you in a higher seat position than standard seats, and when I make the comparison with my Recaros, then the Scheelmans are putting you really very high up. The Recaros provide a lower seat position than standard, and also provide more space between you and the steering wheel as there definitely is thinner padding. But the shape of the Recaro buckets give you the best possible support of all seats in my opinion, both for short and for long trips. You hear me coming, ....after several trips in the Hunter, I think the SVX style Recaros are quite superior to the Scheelmans seats or to anything else. Give them both a try I would say as seats are a very personal experience. One added little thing is that Land Rover offer factory seat covers for the Recaros, same style as for the 2nd and 3rd row seats. Not so for the Scheelmans however. Land Rover themselves only use the Scheelmans on very small scale, just for some very small numbered limited editions here in Switzerland and in Germany. The total number of Defenders with Scheelman seats as offered by Land Rover (Black Pearl, Hunter and Blaser editions) adds up to something like 200 I guess. Eric You never actually own a Defender. You merely look after it for the next generation. http://youtu.be/yVRlSsJwD0o https://youtu.be/vmPr3oTHndg https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_GtzTT9Pdl0 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ABqKPz28e6A https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rLZ49Jce_n0 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XvAsz_ilQYU https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K8tMHiX9lSw https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=dxwjPuHIV7I https://vimeo.com/201482507 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZSixqL0iyHw |

Put the 96 plate 110 300 TDi in for its MOT today.
Well I had to as went on line to do tax and MOT had expired! Ooops as soon as I know MOYT is out vehicle does not mve until it goes for its MOT. So this 18 year old went in for its MOYT with a lot of preparation. Horn works, lights work. Well it passed first time with the following advirsory, small chip less then 40 m (i.e less then 10 mm) not in zone A, stitching on drivers seat belt showing wear (not bad for 18 year old seat belt) minor play in dropped ball joint. Has 207,000 miles on clock. It might be getting on in years, might be slow, noisy and draughty but I still like it Brendan |

Well, well, I did not realise it was so long since have posted on this thread!
We bought our black 110 UW when we first set up our company back in 09 and it has served us well. Tomorrow it goes to a new home. It does seem odd with company logo off, no roof tent or Foxwing and minus a few lights Click image to enlarge It no longer feels like our vehicle. However it may well still be seen at various Land Rover show in the future as it is going to Freedom Trailers. Dave and Jo pick it up tomorrow. Replacement 110 UW due on 19th July. Now are we taking bets on how long it will before it is modified? Any suggestions on what we should do with the new 110? Brendan |

Have a much better idea!
We will be trying out some rather new interesting items on the new motors. However, mum is the word at this moment in time. Must admit I am feeling a bit impatient to try some of the items out. Any more suggestions? Brendan |

LED side repeaters will be going on the new Aintree Green 110 UW.
It was quite amusing when the salesman said what extras do you want, err ignore that you will be doing your own thing. YES. Here hoping the supply of 255/85/16 is sorted by mid July, otherwise will have to remove the boost alloys and put on a set of standard rims . Saw a nice set of rims at Bad Kissingen, very tempted until saw the brand name embossed on them. So think it will be a set of Zu's unless someone could suggest another rim? Brendan |
