Rear mudflap brackets
There seems to be plenty to choose from but which are good quality and which are to be avoided? I'm after a pair to replace my rather tired looking original ones, so can someone point me in the right direction?

cheaper than stainless go for galvanised ones then etch prime and paint will look good for years and years For those who like Welsh Mountains and narrow boats have a look at my videos and photos at..

It is not just the material used but how it is used.


Mild steel cut, formed then galvanised is better then galvanised mild steel which is cut and formed.

Stainless steel which is cut then formed is better then mild steel or items punched out of galvanised plate.

Then there is the quality of the finish.

Have seen items which have just been top powder coated then some have been bead blasted, pre coated and then top coated and cured.

On thin sheet metal items the biggest problem is coverage/adhesion of the protective coating on sharp edges.


Good quality finishes does not come cheap.
