Hello ian series 1
buyer beware... Looks like you now have a method which suits you... But... Never pay without seeing. Always be prepared to walk away. Scams come in many forms...it's just possible she's part of it. Go and check with your head, and if ok, and it's what you want buy it, let your heart have it's day after a bit of 'due diligence'. Good Luck. SKIP https://www.defender2.net/forum/topic83242.html |

Yep,
Basically I've told them I will turn up, Look at v5 Look at S1 Pay via PayPal over mobile phone Load and go! I've told them I will pay what I bid, I will not try to haggle on price (which in all honesty I think that was part of the problem?) I know exactly what I'm buying, and what to expect. But your right, trust no one, sad as it is, but that's the way of the world these days 80" 80" 86" 88" 90" Wanted, Forward Control Anything considered. |

Always view and check things over first!
To put yet another slant on it - if I were a sold an accurately described and photographed vehicle on Ebay buy someone who had not viewed the vehicle before purchase only to have said buyer turn up and then change their mind I'd be a bit miffed. Steve. Owned numerous Land Rover vehicles of all shapes and sizes over the decades. Current Defender: A non tarts hand-bagged Puma 110 XS USW. [Insert something impressive here such as extensive list of previous Land Rovers or examples of your prestigeous and expensive items, trinkets, houses, bikes, vehicles etc] http://forums.lr4x4.com I used to be Miserable ...but now I'm ecstatic. |

That's the other thing, it was badly listed! He had it on there a few weeks ago and pulled the listing off early due to so many people contacting him. I did ring him to ask if I could view it back then, he was not allowing any potential buyers to view it. I told him he was mad as he'd get more interest in it But he thought it was only worth £300! Honestly, he's not got a clue! When asked what I would do with it, I said get it back on the road, he said I was stupid, as it would not be possible due to rusty wings, oh.... And needs new wiper blades! The random eBay photos show some shots of a solid bulkhead and chassis And a broken wing mirror! Can't wait till Sunday 80" 80" 86" 88" 90" Wanted, Forward Control Anything considered. |

Now take advantage of his 'mental state' and miss a zero off the payment
In all seriousness, I wouldn't have had that much patience. I hope it exceeds your expectations.. Just because this forum is intended for later Defenders, I think there should be a 'Series' section |

I'm only being patient with him as this is one I have wanted for a long time.
If it were anything else I would have walked away from the start. It ticks all the right boxes for me. And most importantly it's not too much of a basket case Watch this space! 80" 80" 86" 88" 90" Wanted, Forward Control Anything considered. |
