Advice on point & shoot Waterproof camera
I want to buy my retired parents a waterproof digital camera for them to take on a trip to Australia.

They are in their early 70's, have ipads so pretty clued up with technology.

Doesn't want to be too complicated and should be small and light so no SLR's - recommendations please Bow down

Sony used to do a Cybershot which was waterproof - not sure if they still do...

Have you considered a GoPro plus waterproof housing - the best of both worlds... Thumbs Up

There are not many, if any, P&S that are truly waterproof... Whistle

Only other make I would trust, personally, would be Nikon, such as this one... Razz

What ever you get them , get them to take the first photo of some sort of contact details, either a phone number address of hotel or email, just for the trip then if the camera gets lost you have a much better chance of getting in back

There is another option, buy a camera and case package, that way you get a good quality camera that can be used as normal, if you want use it in a wet area then it is put in the case.

It is a fair bit more but can be worth it

or another option for waterproof camera is perhaps

I got SWHMBO one of these

http://www.panasonic.com/uk/consumer/camer...-ft30.html

Easy to use, excellent pictures and certainly waterproof - it has been used in some heavy rain storms without any ill effect. It also has a panoramic feature which is really good once you get used to using it.

Around the £120 mark.
