Potential Purchase
Any help / advice appreciated viewing a 2.4 Puma 010 circa 30k miles at end of week is there anything in particular to look out for or to check, it's one owner full history. It has had the bulkhead at the rear of the seats removed, is this easy to reinstall ?

90 or 110?

The most significant thing I'd bee looking for it clutch changes. If you search for "Puma Clutch Rattle" "Death rattle" that sort of thing you'll get a load of information, but if you get a noticeable rattle when you take your foot off the clutch in neutral you're looking at needing a new clutch. If you don't currently, you probably will do in the next 10-20k miles.

hi there d p f can be a issue check for off road damage un repaired stone chip on bulkhead <seen> that have been mess even newish ones if you have a mate who is in to land rovers take them too but most of all enjoy it if you get it good luck hope it goes well Thumbs Up

no DPF on 2.4, check for clutch rattle, play in transmission, corrosion around windscreen, water ingress around the bulkhead and front doors, evidence of off road abuse, remap (does the EGR do the chukkas), corrosion to rear cross member, bumper and mud flap brackets, and all the usual dodgy noises from the engine, worth looking under the seats into the battery box and under drivers seat, if its been waded it will generally be evident in these areas, blowing exhaust around the turbo. generally search this site for all the other issues it might have. DEFENDER 90 TDCI XS,

I lnow it's a 2.4 but I've not heard of anyone having issues with their DPF. Anyone here have issues? And not rumour or a mate of a mate. 110 D250 SE HT

Viewed the 90, it's quite tidy, though no AC or heated seats, do you really need these two luxuries in a 90 HT, can heated seats/elements be retro fitted, if so anyone know a rough cost.

Search goes on, the 010 HT 90 Puma is sold, in a waŷ I'm pleased as I really would like heated seats, AC as a bonus, and full bulkhead which it didn't have Big Cry shame as it was like new with private use.

Spotted a 011 HT 90 X Tech on a forecourt, going to call in today, I'm hoping that it's not plus vat! and if any it's included, can't bring me self to pay MORE Tax! Nice low milers do seem to be scarce. Is everyone keeping them.

That's a resounding, if unscientific, no then. My only issue is that I don't know when it's working (active cycle) and i would like to.
