Better than me I paid £700 for two years or two services in my case. Defenders are quite expenise to service in comparison to modern cars in the same price bracket. Friend of mine manage 3 years free servicing when he brought his car.

Another one, my wife last year bought a new BMW Mini with a TLC pack which cost £300.00 for five year servicing or fifty thousand miles whichever comes first. I know there is a difference between a Mini and a Defender but at £1499 they are having a laugh. For those who like Welsh Mountains and narrow boats have a look at my videos and photos at..

I was told they didn't do this for Defenders when I bought mine two months ago!

Jimz,
It just seems to emphasise that we are getting some mixed messages about fixed price servicing from JLR and its dealers. |

Hi discomog
Thank you for your post. I note your query and can confirm that currently Land Rover do not offer a fixed price service plan for the Defender. Fixed price service plans are being introduced on our newer vehicles, however as production of the Defender will cease in December 2015, there are no plans to introduce a fixed price service plan for the Defender. I am aware that our retailers may offer their own service plans, for further discussion, I would suggest speaking to the retailer of your choice. Regards Ryan |

Thanks Ryan for the quick response. I can understand the reason behind not offering fixed price servicing on an outgoing model. Thanks again for the taking the time to respond.

Independent for me all day long, I wouldn't go near a dealer for something as important as a service.

£1079 I've been quoted for 3 year service plan, how much saving is this price when comparing to individual 1,2,3 year service costs.

Land Rover UK have a lot to learn from Land Rover Switzerland apparently.
Every new Defender you buy here comes standard with 3 years full factory unlimited warranty,.... and with 3 years service A or B as is required, .... including annual replacement of the windshield wipers. All that at zero extra cost. Even better, if you buy thereafter the 3 year extra warranty (year 4-6) the service for those years is also included again. No shortcuts, replacing brake fluid, brake disks/pads, if prescribed or required, it will be done at their expense, ..... again including those annual windshield wiper changes Eric You never actually own a Defender. You merely look after it for the next generation. http://youtu.be/yVRlSsJwD0o https://youtu.be/vmPr3oTHndg https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_GtzTT9Pdl0 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ABqKPz28e6A https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rLZ49Jce_n0 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XvAsz_ilQYU https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K8tMHiX9lSw https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=dxwjPuHIV7I https://vimeo.com/201482507 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZSixqL0iyHw |

Eric - I'd have to look up the group holdings to be sure, but does that mean that the answer from Ryan above is actually not true?

Not true for Switzerland for sure. I presume Ryan only refers to the UK market.

Wow! How much money I'd already have saved with the Swiss service in Holland. 😳

The flyer that came with the car from my dealer offered a service plan at £55pm... I think I'll pass on that :-/... £1980 for three years servicing!

I would, but I guess it depends on how much you drive?
