plasti dipped mine over 2 years ago... wheels have been on / off @ LR to have the swivel changed under warranty about 3 times, new brakes all around and still looking fresh.

Hmm, on that same website I found these (I run steel wheels):
http://www.wrington.co.uk/land%20rover%20s...0nuts.html It goes down from 15,- a nut to 12,- a wheel, that is more reasonable but still quite a considerable sum: 60,- for only a few nuts. May I'll try the plastidip first! Defender 130 HCPU Td5 MY2000 |

theres a little art to it, coat too thick and the socket will damage it, took me a few goes of trial and error

Boab does a set of black alloy wheel nuts for about £150 for a set of 23
Nakatanenga does a set of black steel wheel nuts for about 50 euros. Am not sure if both companies offer both alloy and steel wheel nuts. Brendan |

Thanks for all the info, I will look into it!
The reason why I am considering Plastidip for the nuts, is that I have those ghastly (well, in my view) gold colored HD drive flanges that I was thinking of Plastidipping anyway. Kill two birds with one stone, right? At least it is cheap, I can always go for the more expensive options if it doesn't work out. It's just that I didn't expect the Plastidip coating to survive using a socket on 'm that well as they do in Likeomg's case. Defender 130 HCPU Td5 MY2000 |

i've got rakeway upgraded drive flanges and quite like the gold look.. especially with the little 'R' on the caps... just didn't match with my gold

Lookin' good!
Did you 'prep' the nuts in any way? Or should I simply degrease and give it a go? Defender 130 HCPU Td5 MY2000 |

Hmmm, I just realized my nuts (wheel nuts, that is...) are open ended, so not closed at the end like yours. This might be a bit of a problem when plastidipping, or for the plastidip to last? Defender 130 HCPU Td5 MY2000

Hmmm, I don't seem to find them in 27mm. All I can find is 17, 19 or 21mm...? Defender 130 HCPU Td5 MY2000
