times to change clutch and flywheel TD5 90 and cost?
I have had a look in the search section however being a man I can't find the answer! What I mean is my good lady always says 'have you really looked hard enough'....... Honestly I have?
So took my 90 for a service and the garage said that in a few months I will be needing a new clutch and whilst they are there may as well do the flywheel. He said that the floors need to come out and it's a long long job.
Before I go spend my very hard earned cash does any body know how long the job should take and an average price?
I have found the clutch and flywheel kit on fleebay for £387.95.........
Any advise would be really appreciated!
Cheers

Not sure about the TD5 but I just got my Puma done in about 6 hours for £661 and some change, new AP HD clutch, slave cylinder and single mass flywheel including labour all whilst away in the tin tent using an independent. Thumbs Up

They work roughly on 10 hours labour I had a recent price of genuine £1480 and £1060 for a Valeo.

Pass never been near a puma yet ? The time is stripping everything out ,just to drop the box.You can get a valeo clutch,DMF and bearings for around £400. Genuine DMF is about £560 on its own !!!! Some take the engine out, others move it forward, others drop the box. Make sure you replace the spigot bearing at the same time.

They're having a laugh. Td5 clutch and flywheel is a doddle to do. I used to do them in 3 hours on my own on the floor. Confident I could do one on the floor in 5 hours these days no probs.

I looked into it about 3 months ago when mine was slipping, I managed to sort it but the local garage quoted me approx 10 hours labour plus the cost of the clutch. They asked L/R about replacing it with a solid flywheel too, which I asked them to, but they said the local L/R dealer had not recommended doing this as it ended up being very noisy to the point of people returning to the dealers asking what's wrong, so stick with the dual mass.
I think it came to around £850 ish, plus there might be some seals, oils etc. They recommended Valeo parts
