I had my Mach 5s spun without tyres on after I got them to ensure they were straight and true. As you stated one of your wheels/tyre does not sound right with over half a pound of weight in old money stuck to it. The beads wouldn't have stood a chance.
I am still hopeful that the Dynabeads and the fact I have checked the wheels prior to tyre fitting they will be a satifactory combination.
Ken from the forum also kindly offered to balance mine but time and distance precludes this. With a dedicated fitter/balancer anything is possible but they are I think in very short supply. The stickies on my old Mach 5s look a dreadful mess having been on the rims for 5 years now. I will remove them and either get them rebalanced or replace with beads if this set pans out and the old wheels go back on.

Glad you are sorted. Thumbs Up If you go through life with your head in the sand....all people will see is an ar5e!!

Having spoken to Colin at Dynabeads on two occasions he convinced me they would indeed work. We shall see, but on my other thread there seems to be good feedback on larger tyres such as BFG, Mickey Thompsons and Simex. Lorryman had an issue where he needed to fit more beads and Lambley had similar issues to yourself. Nowt to lose as I have the beads and wheels ready to go but am just waiting on tyre delivery now. Hopefully tomorrow!

I use this http://www.rematiptop.com/parts.php?sid=35 in my BFG 235-85-16 from the start and inside tubes. Laughing
I love it. Hardly any vibrations even after off-roading.

Still have to put them in my Simexes. Roel

You must be doing something wrong! Many people have had success with them and the powder too. Or maybe your tyres had a heavy spot perhaps Question

Some do get on with them and some don't. You and your customers must have been unlucky. What ones did you use, tyre size and weight of beads in the tyres out of vested interest?

Offroading and large amounts of mud adhered to the tyres can affect them severely. Thumbs Up If you go through life with your head in the sand....all people will see is an ar5e!!

Thought I would share my experience.

Had a new set of 265/75r16 BfG Mud KM2's fitted to a set of RVS(Terrafirma) Beadlock wheels without the beadlock ring fitted so being used as a conventional wheel/tyre combo. I watched them balance them on the machine and was shocked to see that the wheels needed between 160-270gms each. They weren't damaged at all so didn't sound right, but the machine said it was right. Driven 3000miles with the most horrendous vibration right up to 70mph.

So, bought enough sets from Devon4x4 and set about fitting 150gms in each tyre and taking all the weights off. Then fitted the beadlock rings so now they are 265/75r16 BfG KM2 Muds set at 32psi on RVS Single Sided Beadlock rims with the Beadlock ring securing the outer edge of the tyre. As a single sided deadlock should be used.

Result: No vibration whatsoever and the 110 drives like a new one. Excellent product that does exactly what is said it does.

I think I will now take all the unsightly weights off my other car wheels and try the ones from Beadlock UK as they have an applicator that attached to the valve stem which will save me having to break the tyre of the rim.

Top and Bottom of it, they worked on mine. Thumbs Up As mentioned earlier on the thread, who is to say the balancing machines are accurate. Plus, how can you ensure the wheel has been put on the machine exactly right!

Never did get a response!

I have had mine on for a couple of months now. Initially when fitted I had a slight vibration at exactly 50mph only. The fitters had inflated them all to 36psi. Once I played around a bit with the pressures and reduced the fronts down to 32 and increased the rears slightly to 38 all now runs smoothly.

Ken good tyre fitters I know now are like hen's teeth. I shall not go into too much detail but when I got my KM2's the walls of one tyre where stored had collapsed. To find a decent fitter that could spend a little time to get the tyre to bead on the rim took a round robin trip to three different places. The second blatantly couldn't be ar5ed to even discuss the issue.

Needless to say I know where to go in future! That was a very frustrating day! Most tyre fitters round here are grubby individuals who can't seem to think outside the box and are just robots with limited intent towards customer satisfaction and are clockwatching for their next tea break or job and knock. NOT ALL I have discovered.

If I'd have known about the issue I could have 'borrowed' a couple of vehicle ratchet straps from work and resolved the problem myself without leaving home perhaps? Never mind fitted now! Just for information.....You can only get two 305 tyres and two 16" Mach 5s in a new Mini with the seats down and to fit 5 tyres takes three flippin' trips! I wouldn't have faired any better in the 90!

Very true. Unfortunately, like everything else nowadays it is very difficult to find someone close by that actually knows what they are doing. It seems that just because they have the latest equipment it doesn't mean they are going to get it right and lets face it, how many mechanics/technicians actually have 'true' skills???
