Hi,
Am after opinions on Wipac versus RDX Led lights. Am after Improving my Sidelights and rear stop/Tail lights. Want to go to Led, but was just wondering if there is much in difference between the above mentioned. Any Opinions/Thoughts greatly received. I have a full set of Wipac LED lights, sides and indicators etc
They are easy to fit just unplug the old and plug in the new. You will have to reverse the wiring for Defenders after 1998 (as i found on my MY13). Don't use the Wipac relay through. It works fine but you will loose the trailer warning, instead it will flash all the time the indicators are on. If you go for the Wipac LEDs i would advise you then buy the RDX relay as it will retain the trailer warning function. |

I have just swapped out standard for Wipac clear LEDs. Due to my rear lightguards and the fact they are designed for OEM lights I needed to source some as close to OEM as possible. These were a tighter fit than OEM.
Standard front. Click image to enlarge Wipac LED. Click image to enlarge Have got the Wipac fog and reverse LEDs on order and am considering doubling them up on the rear instead of just one of each. WIPAC Led's full set fitted a year ago with no issues, would not be surprised if Bolt on Bits RDX lights were in fact WIPAC as well sold under they RDX brand as they look identical.
However which ever set you choose don't fit the WIPAC relay but buy the RDX led relay its expensive but works. For those who like Welsh Mountains and narrow boats have a look at my videos and photos at.. http://www.youtube.com/user/conwy1 |

Completly RDX on mine, all good.
I think you'll find the RDX and Wipac have a different reflector and LED pattern. Not massively different but there, or do I understand anyway. |

The local supplier didn't have any Wipac clear reverse or fogs but he did have some Bearmach ones that were also 'E' marked but I wasn't keen on the lens/led pattern. My OCD wouldn't let me rest unless I stick with the Wipacs as they looked better too.
Have binned the doubling up of the lights as my swing away prevents this so will just replace the OEM ones. Wasn't in the truck when I went to order them but it did seem a reasonable idea at the time. If you go through life with your head in the sand....all people will see is an ar5e!! A couple of people have mentioned this but I found no issues whasoever with the Wipac relay supplied. No need to shell out a further £30 for the RDX relay. Not sure if the Wipac relay may have been upgraded but it came with the kit and works a treat with the trailer light being adjustable to the point it flashes only once, exactly the same as having OEM lights fitted. Finally collected and fitted the NAS Wipacs. Unfortunately whereas all the remaining Wipac indicators, sidelinghts, stop and tail came with connectors the NAS ones didn't. Decided to use waterproof aerograde jiffy connectors that with the right tool can be disconnected when and if necessary. Even had some blue cable ties to match the jiffys to secure them together and placate my OCD. Anything but BoB. They could give them away for pennies and wrap them in gold leaf, but they won't get a penny of my money. 110 D250 SE HT
