Thanks for the feedback Nick, could the ATF working for you have anything to do with the climate you're in?

Different people have different feedback from the oils they use. Perhaps due to the age of the box or other factors... I don't know. Seems very varied.

My R380 was fully reconditioned with new Disco ratios in there around 15,000 miles ago so do need some fresh stuff in there....

My final decision is on the oil due to price, quality and availability:

R380 Gearbox - Granville MTF94 £27 for 3 L

LT230 Transfer box - Castrol Syntrans Multivehicle 75W-90 Fully Synthetic MTF

Axles: Castrol Axle EPX 80W-90


(Granville might not be super gucci oil but it's a fairly large UK based brand and advised that it was made by Shell) "Big green" 2000 Td5 90 IRB Developments modified (2004-2011)

Discovery 3 TDv6 GS Auto 2011-2012 *Missed the Defender too much*

IRB Developments rebuild: Project Ice cube 2012-......
