Storing tyres
Hi boys and girls, I am in the process of getting a new set of road tyres c/w rims for my 90. I want to store my mil' pattern Michelins on their rims, but what is the best way to do this? Do I air them down or keep them up, store in dark, cover them, coat them with anything etc etc. They will be coming out of hibernation if and when I fancy a bit of off road stuff, and possibly for the winter too. Is there any way of stopping them deteriorating with age? Does anyone else store tyres long term? Cheers, Roddy.

I have a set of storage trees that pile the wheels and tyres up but keep them seperated, this means you don't have to keep restacking them all the time.
I picked up some cheap sets but while they do the job aren't the best quality and could do with having a wider more stable base.
They are fine for my wheel only spares but the set with tyres on are a bit wobbly and I have them tied back to a wall.
Stored in a cool dark area they also came with a cover that slips over the top to stop UV damage.
But as I don't intend to reuse the tyres that are on the wheels i'm not that bothered as i only got them with the alloys.

I used tyre bags, and laid them in a row under the 110

If you stack them, best no more than 2 high as they can go off balance

You can get scaffold poles and make a vertical stack

Keep them out of direct sunlight

Not sure if more/same/less pressure .. I left mine the same
