Has anyone heard of this before? Not sure if it you work, seems a bit dubious to me

I suppose it makes sense, they changed from positive earth vehicles because of accelerated rust if I'm not mistaken? 2002 90 Td5 Station Wagon

According to the video, it ranges between 200-400 volts, this I assume, is easier and less power hungry to achieve with ac rather than dc? 2002 90 Td5 Station Wagon

Well they put sacrificial anodes on boats so perhaps something like that would work?

I work in the marine industry and whilst sacrificial anodes and galvanic isolators are very, very effective of reducing (not preventing) corrosion I can see perhaps a slight flaw when it comes to Defender application as did Nevillerover. A boat sits in water which is a perfect earth and conductor. The Defender is manufactured from different materials which quite often can be difficult to find an earth at the same potential as the battery earth. With the application/fitment olf this gismo should the entire vehicle not be at the desired potential will the panels/areas not at that potential possibly be subjected to increased corrosion as a result? All pie in the sky and speculative I know.
Ultimately all any corrosive process needs is two different potentials, moisture and oxygen. Using the correct fasteners, isolating 'bolt ons' with gasket or wet assembly with a decent sealant and of course waxoyl or Dinitrol to prevent oxidisation is still the most proven and effective method along with regular monitoring for any deterioration. I have just had my narrow boat hull blacked with Two Pack Epoxy, while it was in dry dock I asked about the anodes and what they were for and got the same answer as you gave K9F. Although through interest I looked them up on the internet and got this good description.
If two metals are in a conducting liquid, i.e. water, and connected together a current will flow between them. This is how a battery works. As water is a poor conductor the current will be very small, but as it is there 24 hours a day, 7 days a week the cumulative effect can be significant. On a boat with brass skin fittings, a brass propeller and even slightly different grades of steel can all effectively become the plates of a battery and as metal will be removed from one side by going into solution to release the electrons, corrosion will occur. This is the dreaded “galvanic corrosion” that gives rise to pitting. I did not have to have them replaced on my boat as the condition of them was good. Yep, Gilarion is rigth Water itself is considered non conductive (do the test with deionized water). But if you put salt in it is another history. More salty more conductive. So you have more possibility to conduct electricity in sea water than in a tap water. Yep K9F, but the point is not the water itself is the salt that contains

I have used vehicles that pass a current through them on a perm basis to indicate whether something has been attached to the vehicle. Anything that is attached disrupts the field on the car and flashes up something has been attached. The Rules:-
