Relax NickH - bike carrier duties only
![]() Just out of curiosity though, what's the difference between, say, how the extender is constructed versus how the tow bar drop plate is extended? To my ignorant eye, both look like similar types of formed/welded steel. |

Thanks to this thread, (KMAC in particular) I hope to have sorted the problem having sourced a Discovery 2 swan neck on ebay.

Does anybody know where to get one of these from, I thought they were made for Freelanders years ago and didnt fit Defenders, I have a wheel carrier so it would be good for odd days away when I dont want to put the big carrier on. Thanks 2.2 2012 110 utility Orkney Grey Also Range Rover Evoque - Surprising but I like it. Previous Freelander 2 SD4 HSE - Black 90 TD5 Discovery 3 Early Discovery. |

It's a Discovery 1 fitting
Britpart / Simbars make them, you just have to turn the b racket upside down and drill a hole for the lock. http://www.johncraddockltd.co.uk/accessori...bikes.html |

Would you not need a number plate and light bar with that rack tiger? The bike appears to be obscuring the number plate

I have been at this company: http://www.bikerackcompany.com
Looking at the video, the bike rack on the defender spare wheel looks neat and solid. Howver, it doesn't seem to be listed on their website. I've emailed them and am waiting for a response... |

How do you open the back door?

I can manage without opening the door, but the rack does pivot downwards to allow access (though I havn't tried it)
I will have a go next time it is on. |

It only sticks out the diameter of the tow ball from the outside of the tyre
