I thought it was all to do with fuel emission and the plans by the European Council and Parliament to bring in stricter measures for new car emissions, which meant there were certain conditions regarding emission levels the Defender just won't meet. For those who like Welsh Mountains and narrow boats have a look at my videos and photos at..

I cant work out why leasing/renting is a good idea. LR are charging 6-7%APR, so over 3-4 years you're going to be paying nearly 30% more than if you'd paid cash. You need to be very rich if you can afford leasing...or am I missing something..? cheers simon |

people haven't got a big lump of cash to pay for them
years ago people had the cars and things they could afford , not any more maybe that's why the country is in the state its in because people were allowed to go in to such debt |

Like paying millions of pounds a day to be in it seems a good reason to me
and dont say its so we can trade with europe better , plenty of other countries manage ok Stupid emission rules , if each country took one plane out the air , would probably do more good then pushing for low emission levels on cars court of European human rights , now that is really one we can do without ! having to have European cover on your car insurance for 2 weeks or something , puts our insurance up for something some of us will never use , should by my choice if i want it then i want the option of adding it i would prefer someone telling me what i can and cant do who lives in this country! |

So you would vote for less human rights and more emissions? That's just what we need.

Human rights for those who deserve to have rights
they are more ways of lowering emissions , but the motorist always seem to be the easy target |

Human rights for some but not for others? How would you select who had rights and who doesn't?

There are people who don't deserve human rights? Tell who you're talking about.

At the moment the richest have all the rights and that's about it.
And crime figures have now gone up just recently + 1 million food banks in 2015. The EU in my book is mainly positive but there are a few pains I know. We can't go backwards now, the trade we had in this country was destroyed by Thatcher in the 80's and that's why it lead in later years to join up with the EU. When there has been benefits of being part of the EU when the Somerset levels flooding occured they offered emergency funds for a disaster. What happened, a certain someone refused to accept it and just let it happen and did nothing about it. Farms underwater and cattle about to drown if it wasn't for swift action by the farmers down there. But when the Thames flooded oh dear, major catastrophe! UKIP and the current govt is a massive no no from me. Each to their own of course and everyone has their rights of view providing it isn't in malice against others. In 2008 the financial crash was a global problem caused by banks & bankers of which the IFS stated that NO govt could have prevented. Of course this was the richest in the world again that caused this and now they want everyone but themselves to pay for it while they line their own nests with an extra estimated £100k a year better off. The USA had similar problems but got over it far far quicker then over here. And talkin of the U.S. I do not know why more trade isn't done with them anyway. |

I think you will find we were in the EEC before Thatcher came along!!
I also think you will find that for every pound we pay to the EU we get over half of it back in the form of subsidies to various indutries (Agriculture and associated rural development + admin, Nuclear industry, space programmes, research funding, objective 1 area aid funding) so it is not as much going out as UKIP would have us believe. And as for EU rules and stuff, who do you think really invents them? There is not some group of faceless people sat in a closed room somewhere in Brussels brainstorming the next crazy thing to force upon the poor citizens of Europe.Rather it is a political reaction in response to pressure from industry, research establishments or powerful citizen-backed lobby groups. However, it could just be the fact that the EU is quite keen to regulate the banking sector, something very close to Farage and his pals own hearts, that he really wants out. Not that he would admit to that. |

What exactly are the EU farming subsidies for? Or are we talking about a multitude of things too many to mention.
